Can't launch game - Opens Gaming Services

I can't launch a game I've recently installed \('The Outer Worlds'\). When I try to launch it through Xbox console companion, it opens up the Microsoft store on 'Gaming Services' instead of launching the game. I have already
installed Gaming Services and the Microsoft store acknowledges that it is already installed. I tried the troubleshooting methods suggested in numerous forum posts on this issue and no fixes have worked. Any advice is much appreciated.

Make sure the game you are launching is compatible with your Xbox. Also, try to read the manual of your game with regards to some technical specification on how to launch your game. Also, you may see this link about its system requirements:

I returned home from vacation (December 3rd 2019) to find the same thing has happened. I've updated everything there is to update, so far my first Microsoft Store purchase has left me with mixed feelings.

I'll try to update this if I find a solution, assuming microsoft allows that.

Edit: all game files are locked out by windows store security or some [Mod removed- profanity] , i cant even access the executable from the file explorer. That's something I noticed immediately when I first bought the game but had forgotten
about. All I can recommend is to try for a refund and buy the game on a different platform. Like Steam, after they are allowed to sell and distribute the game properly.

trying to launch a game still opens the store page of Gaming Services instead of launching

When I type the second command and hit enter it just opens the Microsoft store stating '' Try that again '' ''something happened at our end'' and code: 0x00000190 ,and CV: qwd7KAq0gEmqfr1Bh3eb9Q . Also, When I did these steps, the launcher now can't open and can't be updated in the microsoft store, same thing with Gaming Services from microsoft. The game could be launched directly but same error continued, launched once then couldn't open more.
