Can't launch any BC discs, do you own this app

Console is online: have hard reset + cleared cache(unplugged)+ signed out. None of my Back Compatible discs will launch. Keeps sending me to the store and hitting (play) from there won't launch the game either. Anybody else having this issue? Nothing wrong
with my laser but surely this on their licensing UI problems. Bummed

Black Ops 3 not booting up

I put the disc in and it comes up with "Do you own this game or app?" when the disc is in there.
Sometimes it says this disc my be dirty or damaged when it isn't. Any suggestions?

question regarding "ready to install" BC titles

Hi all, is there a way to make BC titles that I own physically available as digitally owned ready to install titles?

I'd like to get rid of the discs but still would like to have the tiles available ready to install in the Games & Apps sections when I feel I want to play them.

Alternatively, if I would install the game disc, is the disc still required to play them afterwards (like it is the case with any XBOX ONE titles?)

Since you have the discs, have you tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling them? Could there be a problem with the discs themselves like they're scratched or something? That's the only two things that are coming to mind at the moment.

Thanks for the reply weepysauce but the solution is troubling to me. My DVD laser is dirty/sick. Xb1's have two lasers: bluray + DVD which the DVD is used to read the license info off back compat discs. Was suggested on another forum to play a DVD and sure
enough my ole girl(elite model xb1) wouldn't play it. Dumbfounded and shocked because I super clean my discs and console's every nook and cranny + i never play dvd's. Also i consider my unit to have very "low miles" regarding optical drive usage. Blew some
compressed air into the disc slot which has temporarily helped it load the game I wanted to play. Likely she needs a full teardown to clean both lasers with an alcohol dipped q_tip. I woulda bet the farm that my stuff was clean inside and this was the boogeyman(software
problem) but alas i was way off the mark. At least my bluray is fine but it could be worse like busted a HDD.

Pac-Man is now launching for me, but Alan Wake still won't install from the disc. Do you know if PAL discs are enabled? I remember there was an issue when BC first launched where PAL discs didn't work.

Do you own any other Xbox 360 BC game discs are they currently working on your console?

For game to be recognised and download started you must:

Have working game disc, free from dirt and damage
Your Xbox One must have a working optical drive

If you don't have any other 360 discs, check if your console can read DVD discs. Place a DVD movie into your console and see if it will play. The disc must be a DVD, not a Blu-ray or Xbox One disc.

If it can recognise other Xbox 360 BC game discs and DVD movies, then the fault must be with that particular disc. If your console can not read any 360 BC disc or DVD's, then you have a faulty console.

What is the error message that pops up when you try and launch GOW?

Have you tried any other BC disc games to see if they will work?
