Can't join specific friends party, but can join everyone else

I can't join my friends party or private chat but I can connect to my other friends partys.

When in my other friends party we both can join and can talk to each other but as soon as the host friend leaves we get DC'd from the party.

We occasionally can join each others party but after a while it kicks us (very rare we're able to do this).

Has been going on for almost a week now what's going on?

Recently I have been trying to join my friend’s party but it won’t let me join. I can join my other friends but it won’t let me join my one specific friend.

Can't connect to friend's xbox live party

Hey guys,

I can't join my xbox live friend's party.

My NAT connection is moderate and my friend's is OPEN, yea I know you guys are going to say yep there's your problem.

Not so fast! I can join any other friends and their NAT is open as well is just that one specific friend I can't use.

I'm on my college network so I can't mess with the settings like that, any possible solution?

In order to play MW3 with my friend I have to ask someone else to login to start a party and THEN I CAN join the party.. so basically it has to be A 3 way, once that person leaves the party it boots me out.

any suggestions?

So, the general cause of this will be your NAT type. If it's either strict or moderate you'll have issues, however if yours is open then the problem is on their network. To find your NAT and fix this you can follow the steps in this link, or direct your
friends here if your NAT is open --

Managed to get logged in

I can play games etc now but unable to join friends party or games also they can't join mine if I create it ??

Having the same problem in St. Louis, Missouri. Can not join friend's party and they can't join mine.

Why would there be an issue when you start an xbox live party that with certain people you just cant join their party and they cant join yours, but if someone else creates the party room, everyone can join and chat. We have set and checked everything possible,but
no luck.

I also prefer parties to be closed for invite only as having friends of friends popping in, then their friends joining which can soon lead to an out of control party. I just can't stand big parties where everyone is talking over each other getting louder
and louder fighting for a word.
