Can't join friend but online works?

So as a present I bought a 4 month gold membership for him. At first he couldn't play online, said his NAT was strict. He fixed his NAT but for some odd reason we both can play online with other people but when we try and join a Party or join session it
won't let us. Our NAT is open, Xbox Live is working fine and there's no router problems of any kind.

XBOX LIVE having problems.

I know they are working on it but I can't join friends parties. I can see them online but they can't see me. I have checked my settings and everything is as it should be. I can play online games and create a party of my own but can't join friends. Not
sure if issues are the same.

 

Connected to Wifi but XB1 thinks it's offline. Can't connect to any Live services.

The same is happening to me, everything works the same as if I was online but I can't access anything online. This is frustrating because I can see my friends online but I can't join them.

 

Since his NAT type was originally strict what that basically means that its a closed nat is more restrictive. It won't allow anything in unless it came from the original address and port that you wanted. Now that its open there might be some slight problems
with the connection unfortunately connection cant fix it self in a tick so that's probably why your still have "Cant Connect" problems. The best way i found to deal with is reset your router keep it off for a couple of minuets and hopefully that should resolve
the situation.
