Can't invite to game

It gives me the option to invite to party but not to game. It also won't let me invite through the actual game. I can only invite through game if they aren't on Xbox. I've restarted, checked settings & checked network.

You will need to determine the error messages you are getting from either the network connection and the multiplayer connection by doing the steps below.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select General.

Select Network.

Select Network settings. Any known outages will appear in the middle of the screen.

On the right side of the Network

Please test both the network connection and the multiplayer connection.

Once you have the error message, if it's a network connection error, kindly choose the one from this link, https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/Hardware-Ne...

This will give you a series of steps on how to sort it out.

try doing a power cycle, follow the instructions from above and I hope it works for you.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Thank you for all the replies. I had previously done a restart and rebooted my modem which hadn't fixed it. Did it again anyway then deleted and added my account. All working now.
