Can't install Xbox app on Windows 10 PC

    Can't install Xbox app on Windows 10 PC


    I have reinstalled Windows 10 recently. On build 20H2.

    Trying to install the Xbox app but keep I keep getting: "Something unexpected happened. Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait for a while and try again or restart your device. That may help." - Error Code: 0x80070005

    I have been through countless answers.microsoft pages with no help.

    Anyone with a solution?

    Hi,

    Error 0x80070005 is an 'access denied' error code. It means that games and apps can't be installed due to file access restrictions.

    Did you use D:\ drive on a previous PC or previous install of Windows 10?

    Games and Apps on Windows 10 Store install to a folder called 'WindowsApps', if this folder already exists on your drive, you won't be able to install games.

    No, the only way is to connect the controller to an Xbox console or Windows 10/11 PC with the Xbox Accessories app installed.

    Its in the accessory app on Xbox. You can adjust settings there. If on a PC you need to install the Xbox accessories app in Windows 10. Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, you will need to click the install to download any digital content for PC.

    If you have a Windows 10 device, you can now use the Xbox app to connect to the Xbox Live service.

    Thanks the response. Are you attempting to install the Beta App on a hard drive other than your C: drive(Windows Installation drive)? If the Xbox Beta App is still giving you issues will being installed please try restarting your Windows 10 PC and
