    Can't install or extract system update on Xbox 360


    I haven't used my Xbox 360 for awhile and now it kept asking for system update, otherwise I can't even play games from my CDs.

    It kept giving me the error message with 6 groups of numbers.

    I called the support line and they said they can't help.

    - My internet connection to Xbox Live is good. Even though I can't sign in yet since I need to pass the Update first

    - Restart the machine with the Update folder in my USB, still didn't pick up

    A system update is required to sign in to Xbox Live , but is currently unavailable. If the problem presists, visit www.xbox.com/support

    Yeah man, head on over to the link, just download the .zip, extract and copy to a USB drive. Put usb into Xbox, turn it off, then on and it'll ask to install. I'm on Xbox live right now

    If you are not on Dasboard 2.0.13604.0. You should try downloading the update manually, and putting the extracted contents onto the ROOT of a CD/USB device.

    getting the update failed a system update is required to sign in to xbox live and also error 80151904, had them for over 24 hours. The update downloads but doesn't install, same thing happens via usb..it extracts but doesn't install.I have tried removing
    the update and everything, still don't work.

    Memory Unit Has Corrupted Profile That Will Not Delete and Cannot Download Update

    When the memory units fail in those Xbox 360 consoles, you can't delete or install anything and you'll often get prompted to install a system update which won't install either.

    If you can try and exchange the 360 with gamestop that would be best and get a 360 without a memory unit. The systems without a memory unit will require an internal hard drive.
