Cant install games on Xbox app, says I don't have enough space

I just wanted to play the new sea of thieves update and I've spent the last 2 hours attempting to install the game with it never getting past a 0% error.

when I try to install it on any of my drives all ranging from 110-600gb of free space. (only needs like 90) I've looked through many forum posts saying the same thing and I've tried everything they recommend ex:

this and other similar articles, I've also tried to uninstall and reinstall restart, do windows updates etc.

I've exhausted everything I can possibly think of short of completely reformatting all of my drives and reinstalling windows, if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated ill try just about anything at this point.

Please try to reinstall the gaming services:

- Go to start > Search for PowerShell > Right click > Run as administrator. Type the following command and press enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

- Press Windows + R and type in "regedit". Press enter.

- Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

- Delete the folders "GamingServices", "GamingServices.net" (if they're still there).

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Press Windows + R. Type TEMP and press enter. Delete all the files inside this folder. Repeat this step by typing %TEMP% and Prefetch. Delete everything on both folders too.

- Press Windows + R. Type WSRESET and press enter.

- Restart your computer. Run Powershell as administrator and run the following commands (one at a time):

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

- Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

- Restart your computer one more time. Open the Xbox App and sign in with the same account as the Microsoft store. Try to install your games and let me know how it goes, please.

Ok, but it's forcing me to install thru the xbox app and if i try to install in the xbox app says that i don't have space.

I've been having this issue for about a week now and it still won't install did soft and hard resets even reset the Xbox itself keeping my games and apps and it still persists even when they do actually try to install it says I don't have enough space this frustrated asf!!!!!!

Hi I have a Xbox series x and I have 200 free gb however it says I still don’t have enough space to install it ?

What game are you trying to install? There are definitely some games that are over 200gb so its very possible you really just dont have enough space.
