    Can't install games on HDD


    Hello, for the past few weeks, I have been trying to install Xbox Game Pass games on my PC. I have only been greeted by the error: 0x80070005 which is stated as a permissions error. I have tried quite a few things to fix it, including resetting the Windows store. In fact, I even tried reinstalling Windows and starting from a fresh installation. Is there anyway I can fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

    So for now I have found a work arround:

    Downloading the game to the drive where windows is installed works, after just move the app to another drive.

    My main drive is a fairly small SSD wich will fill up over time and eventually I wont have enough drive space to download big games. But for now it works.

    Hello XBF Houmaidi O,

    I think the best way to remedy this problem with installation is to allow gamers to install the Xbox App on their preferred game drive. This I believe will remedy the issues we are facing by installing games on drives specified by us. The Epic game App allows one to install to a drive of their choice, thus allowing the games to be installed on specific game drives without any issues.

    I wish that Microsoft can give us the option or maybe they should strongly look into it as a way of fixing this problem.

    Let's try more solutions. Please preform the following stps and see if the error code occurs again.

    • Open the Settings app (the gear in the start menu)
    • Open Accounts
    • Click Sign-in Options
    • Scroll down to Privacy
    • Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."
    • Restart your device.
    Make sure to keep up updated!

    I have done all the 6 steps in order and tested between each of them. Sadly, none have solved my issue.
