    Can't install/download games on D:Drive


    Hi,

    I've been trying to download Halo: The Master Chief Collection (even though this still applies to every game) and I'm always getting an error trying to install it to my D: Drive. I've tried googling my error and went through different threads, different
    videos, different everything and still nothing works: (I've tried the troubleshooter, using PowerShell/CMD Prompt commands to reset things, GameAssisstance or whatever it's called, etc. I've also tried re-downloading XGP). I can install it on my C: Drive but
    would prefer my HDD because of storage.

    Just subscribed to the Game Pass, and I can't download any games

    I fixed it, I was downloading games to my D drive, downloading them to my C drive (where Windows is installed) works.

    Games will intall onto my C drive (the drive that has WIndows installed onto it), but now I can't choose to install games onto my D or E drive, because I deleted the WPsystem folders.

    While your D:\ drive has plenty of storage the same can not be said for the C:\ drive. With only 6.68GB you won't be able to install any Windows updates.

    I'm pretty sure the C:\ drive will still be utilised during the download/install process of Windows Store games. Could you try moving one or more of your apps/games from C:\ to D:\ and then try the download again?

    1 - Type cmd (Command Prompt) in the search bar of the Start menu and then click Run as administrator.

    2 - Enter chkdsk /f/x/r/v

    Being in use the system will ask if the user wants to check the chosen drive after reboot. Just type S and restart the computer.

    Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

    Note: not all the game will be possible to be installed on a secondary disk, many games need to be installed on the root disk because they need the system files to run.
