    Can't Hear (Some) People Through Lobby/Game Chat.


    I was wondering if anyone could help me with a situation that's been bothering me. I've had the Xbox one, since day of release. Now I don't know if I'm unaware of something, maybe I missed something. However. When I get into lobby's or via in game chat.
    I can see people talking with the flicker of the mic's status, and for some reason i'm not hearing audio. Now this isn't always the case either. Sometimes I hear people chatting or talking via I'm thinking Kinect. I'm pretty sure My Kinect as it's all I have
    too use for a chatting scenario, is working as it works very well with the voice commands/skype etc. So I don't understand if there is a certain setting i'm unaware of? Another thing I'm questioning is if people can hear me via my Kinect. As I can't send voice
    messages via Xbox ONE.. =(..... I have really not much of an option. I've asked most people while on live if my mic was working, and usually I get no response. any help would be appreciated. thank you for your time.

    How many find this disturbing or ever noticed this?

    Funny thing... If you're in a party, but you switch the mic settings to "Play through both", being the speakers and the headset, you can hear the people in the Lobby as well as the people in your Party; thing is, the people in the Lobby still can't hear
    you. Also, in some games it actually does show that you have a mic, but are in a party, namely Halo.

    Xbox One Headset Adapter

    I can hear audio. It's just chat I can't hear. So if I'm in a lobby it's like I have everyone muted. As soon as I pull the chord from the adapter I hear others talking. They can hear me through Kinect

    I'm having the same issue. I see the speaker icon flickering, but can't hear anyone. I'm using Astro A40s with the chat adapter so I'm not sure if that is the issue or if it's something else. I've used this setup before and it was working fine.

    Have you updated your controller and tried a Hard-reset?

    Yes. It will work for a while then it stops working.

    Can Anyone Else Still Hear Game Chat While in Party Chat?

    I always thought hearing people in lobbies while in a party was due to the headset because some of my friends can also hear people in lobbies but some can't. I do have the volume to play through both but I don't use the volume on my tv.
