Can't hear NPC's talk, but have all other sounds!

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? I have all sounds but when a NPC speaks in the game their voice is so low I can't understand them, but sometimes it will increase so I can make out what they are saying. It's weird. I have 5.1 surround.

Correction. I can still hear game sounds on my new headset. I just can't hear other people talk.

Have you checked the mic's compatibility with Xbox? Perhaps the version or company doesn't support that specific microphone...

check your sound settings for audio outputs in the xbox, also if your reciever has a sound test run it to check speaker levels.

 

to fix this simply turn down the effects and music volume, worked for me

 

Possible you're using 5.1 surround and your receiver / the xbox don't talk to each other properly.

I have a similar problem on certain games (watchdogs)- I have to set the Xbox to Stereo, then the receiver outputs to the centre channel - really annoying.

I have a Sony DAV-DZ260.

 

I have the exact same issue all other parts of the game are fine as are NPC talking on the radio but when you talk to them face to face they are super quiet.

I am having the same problem ever since they updated my Xbox One it has to be that something they did. I know it's not my surroundsound because it does it even when I don't have it on and I have an old TV you either can't hear the NPC's at all or it's so
unbelievably low that you can just barely hear them . PLEASE if anyone knows how to fix this let me know. PS it was not like this before the Xbox one update it was fine I even have issues with Skylanders Imaginator's Xbox one game there's no sound on it either
when you're talking face-to-face to an NPC Xbox please fix this problem!!!!!!!
