    Can't hear in game chat?


    When playing my Xbox, I use a stereo headset adapter and I can hear game audio just fine, but I can never hear in game chat. I can see the Mic symbol when people talk but no sound. I even tried holding down the + button on the adapter but still no chat
    audio.

    Does anyone know a fix to this or what's wrong? I know it's not my Mic because I tried using it on a PS4 and I can hear chat and game audio just fine on the PlayStation. The Xbox is my main system so I would like to tightening a fix for this.

    Can't hear people

    I can't hear anyone but they can hear me my nat type is open privacy setting are good not muted sound on plus I can hear game sound but not people controller is fine headset is fine (I've tried two) I don't no what to do

    Can't hear anything

    I can't hear anything on my Xbox headset, I know it works because it works on my little brothers xbox. I have tried different controllers and everything. Still nothing. People can hear me though.

    Hello there sorry to hear that you’re still having this Issue please follow these steps

    sorry for the inconvenience

    • Disconnect the headset or unplug the headset cable from the controller, and then reconnect it firmly to the controller
    • Check that the headset is not muted by checking the mute button on the headset controls
    • Increase the audio by going to Settings>Device & Accessories and select your controller to adjust audio settings
    • Use a different controller or headset to check for any malfunction on the hardware
    • Update your controller to get the latest software
    • Ensure you’re using the Xbox One headset with Xbox One controller only as it isn’t intended for use with other devices, plus the console doesn’t transmit game sounds or music through the headset
    • Clean your Xbox hardware by checking the headset, cord and connector for any defects. Ensure there’s no dirt/debris on the headset connector.
    • Check the controller’s batteries, if they’re low, they won’t provide power to the headset, so you need to charge it before using it.
    • Reboot your console by unplugging the power cord for 15 seconds.

    My headset only works in party chat. When I'm playing other games I can see that people are talking but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. It only works in party chat.
