Can't Go to Home Screen Once in an App

Afraid not.

Once you have the new home screen you can't go back to the old one.

Having the same issue -- sometimes when i boot up, I can't do anything on the home screen with the controller, or the xbox one remote. If I start an app or game via Kinect, everything works within the context of that game/app, but if I hit the home button
or go home via Kinect, I'm still unable to do anything on the home screen. A recycle fixes it, but it is definitely frustrating.

To be clear if I go to "My games & apps" then select "Store" all I see a screen titled "Newest Features on Xbox One"

The same things if, while on the Home screen i Quite the running application/game. Once I quite the app/game the large tile in the middle of the screen is "Store". When I select that I to to a screen screen titled "Newest Features on Xbox One".

If I scroll Right on from the Home Screen to the Store Screen I can select "Games", "Movies & TV", or "Music" shop in the store.

I can't even get into the game from games and apps when I choose a game it goes to a load screen and then acts as of I said Xbox go home. But the game never loads.

I've only done this once, so I can't guarantee it will work for you, but what worked for me is to add the person to my home screen, so they have their own content block, then immediately remove the block. Once the block was added and removed, they were no longer recommended at the bottom of the home screen.
