  1. Can't get through first time setup. Nothing on this site mentions my problem -can't ...

I have tried setting up my new Xbox One system for weeks with no luck. I have read all the How-To's, FAQ's and guides on this site and elsewhere, nothing I have seen addresses my problem. Simply put:

When I first tried to set it up I selected English as the language, then moved to the Network setup screen, it was able to locate and connect to my WiFi, then on the screen it says "You're Connected!" (all as it should be), but when I press the "A"
but to continue it makes a "ding" noise but it doesn't move to the next screen - it just stays on the network page saying "You're Connected".

My only options are to press 'A' to "Continue" or 'B' to go "Back" to the Language screen. If I do go back to Language then forward again to Network it's the same problem. That is as far as I can get. I can't find anything online about this problem - the
guides always show it moving to the next setup screen after pressing A for Continue.

I posted a question about this a couple weeks ago and someone suggested I reset the xbox and the router:
(try this press and hold the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds then unplug the console and the wifi router for 5 minutes. once the 5 minutes are up plug the wifi router back in and wait for it to boot all the way back up. once its
booted back up restart the xbox and try the first time set up again)
. I tried this, but it didn't make any difference - it still "connected" to my wifi and it still wouldn't go past the Network Setup screen.

Should I just get a refund on this thing?

    :)

  2. xbox one first time setup - says it is connected, press continue, but doesn't do anything?

Going through first time setup of Xbox One. Connected to wireless network - says "You're Connected" but when I press "Continue" (A button) it doesn't move forward, it just makes a "ding" noise and stays on the same page. I can't find any examples of this
    problem anywhere. Please help!!!

  5. I can't really do that, my internet connection and router are on the other side of the house, and on a different floor. Plus, it seems that I am connecting via wireless (at least it says it's connected?), I just cannot move past that point.

  6. I am pretty much at my wit's end here. This appears to be a VERY random, unusual problem. I've not found any other examples of this issue in the forums, or anywhere else. Nobody here seems familiar with it, the little help I've been offered has been generic
and sadly, not very helpful to be honest.

Is there a real support service for Xbox one, or is this it? If this is what I have to look forward to, should I just cut and run, and get a PS4 instead?

  7. You need to try it wired imo , your on the "other side of the house " and a "different floor" ....that's probably not a good way to set up any console that is going to need a huge update , move it to where your equipment is to get it going or take to a friends
house would by my suggestion ...

Seriously? I thought the X-Box One was a true wireless device? I update and download all kinds of stuff wirelessly on multiple computers in the house with no problems. If this console does not work 100% wirelessly (as it was sold to us), then I don't even
    want it!

If it's as you say, that the Xbox One really doesn't work properly wirelessly, I am just going to return it. Can you please confirm that this is the case?

  9. I cant confirm anything as I am not in your house , distance , other floor , interference , what ever type of router you are using are all variables , if something dosent work wireless , I try it wired to troubleshoot ...NOWHERE in my reply did I say xbox
    wouldn't work wirelessly...

  10. I'm sorry - I don't mean to imply that you're saying it doesn't work wirelessly, it just kind of shocked me to hear you suggest that it might be necessary for me to do a wired connection. I am familiar with all the variables you mention, and I am confident
that the strength of the wireless signal isn't the problem; I have a hefty wireless range extender providing a good signal all over the house to computers, TV's, tablets, phones, etc. Plus, the Xbox says it IS connected, it just won't allow me to move on the
the next setup screen. I fear this is just one of those random mystery problems that nobody has a clue how to solve, and I'll be going around in circles forever. Ultimately though, if the wifi connection is an issue with the Xbox One at all - that's a big
problem for me; like I said, if it doesn't work 100% wirelessly then it is not delivering as promised, and I must assume I bought the wrong thing!

  11. Besides holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds then rebooting the router and console, is there a way to do a hard reset so I can try the network connection process from the beginning again? (bearing in mind that it didn't do anything
when I tried that before - it just connected to my network right away after rebooting all).
