Console region isn't the issue your account region and actual region has to.match to pass the not available on your region or 8015017 error

That is not a console setting but am account setting which can only be changed every 3momths not in the fly on the console it can only be done on the website with the region migrations tool

I have the same issue. Not able to download the xbox360 Dirt Showdown (light green = does not allow me to download) even thought I have gold. Every month. Solutions, please?

It wasn't that hard. I used my VPN connection and no problems at all

Yes, the typical crappy message to say "This isn't allowed at your local region"

I'm experiencing the same problem. I've tried All recommended solutions but none have work for me.

Microsoft really needs to come with a definite solution to this. Free games was a BIG incentive for my gold membership but now Microsoft support is telling me to buy an Xbox 360 to play these backward compatible games.

Are these TRULY backward compatible games then?

Does Microsoft really need resort to FALSE advertising?

Does Bill Gates really need MORE money from me?

 

@ngcophil Thank you...so how does this whole thing work now then? Yes, the marketplace hasn't been updated, I think there's a chance we can download it from there, but I checked and I only see the DLC and stuff, or what-have-you...I haven't claimed any xbox
360 backward compatible free (GWG) game yet and this is nuts. LOL

So any suggested workarounds? If anybody finds a solid solution for this, please share. Good karma will come to yah. haha ^^

 

UPDATE: So I guess I've missed the part where some users (thank you!) mentioned using a VPN. I am already using a VPN and I tried it again and voila! It worked indeed and I'm downloading it now. Soooo.... I guess right now the only viable solution is to
use a VPN that matches with the region set on your Xbox.

 

I'm Having the exact same issues as ShayFUT, with flaspoint and dungeon siege 3... and now ShowDown....

 

I have the same issue, can't get: Flashpoint: Dragon Risingt, but before no problem with Sacred 3 and CastleStorm.

The chat support tell me they gonna fix this. Then i read the replies of this board and use a VPN and all works! i get the game!

 

Read two posts above your account region. Must reflect your actual region

If you aren't getting 8015017 then make your own posts but if you don't have an matching account region console locale doesn't count
