  1. Can't get SSD to work.

I just purchased the below SSD and external case to connect to my Xbox One for more storage and faster loading, but I can't get it to work. The Xbox sees it but I can move any games to it. What am I doing wrong?

ADATA Premier SP550 120GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Solid State Drive (ASP550SS3-120GM-C)

New Update Wireless Network Hardware Failure

Fix: Unplug the SSD before Boot and it works just fine, just plug in SSD after console is up and running.

    SSD for External Drive?

A SSD will last way longer than a HD. Considering that your Xbox isn't exactly a pc computer, the lack of rewriting files will mean that a SSD will pretty much last forever on your Xbox One. Its already known that the SSD is a lot more reliable then the
moving parts HD, the problem now is being able to mass produce them to lower their cost.

A 256 GB enclose SSD should work.

    Can't get SSD to work.

    Hi

The external hard drive need to at least meet the specifications listed
    here
to allow it to be used for games.

The basic requirements for storing games and apps on an external drive are:

    • Has capacity of 256 GB or more, and
    • Uses USB 3.0.

    External HDD

To be short. No worries. It will work just fine. Question for you. Are you planing to get Scarlett next year? It will have an SSD internal. To plan strategicaly, wouldn't be better to get external SSD?

My 2tb storage device works, but the light doesnt show up, neither do the games

Is this drive disks or SSD, if it is SSD it should not be making noise. Also the USB cords can be an issue, the connectors can get damaged so try another working cord.

External Hard Drive SSD broken and paralyzes my whole console

Hello, thanks for taking the time!

My SSD is a Seagate Xbox SSD 2TB.

It was purchased through a retailer 2-3 years ago. Worked perfectly well up until just recently.
It is connected directly to my console through one of the USB ports. It connects to the SSD in a Micro B port.

My Xbox is the original Xbox, purchased 2015/2016 sometime. Also worked perfectly well.

If I remove the SSD, my Xbox works well, and internally saved games work well.

The issue occurs when my SSD is connected: no games work, not those on the SSD nor those internally saved.

Unable to change installation drive in xbox app.

    Ok, still not working...

But I tried something else to try to identify the problem, I added an extra hard drive to my computer, and I can select this one for game installation in the xbox app.

Is there anything that prevent the games to be installed on a mechanical hard drive rather than a SSD? I guess there is something different on this SSD and the HDD i'm trying to install games on.

NB: I can't use this SSD for games, I just use it to do a test.
