    Can't get sound through my headset


    Hi

    My Xbox One X won't play sound through my headset.

    • The headset has been tested on PC, works fine.
    • The controller is updated with the latest firmware, lists the headset in connected devices.
    • Sound options are set to using HDMI or Optical Audio Headset.
    • Tried across multiple days, so multiple plug ins and outs and power has been reset.
    But it just plays all sound through my TV. Does anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong?

    BUT . That said. if it's like the 360 headset (which I believe it is) it's a communication headset only. To hear game sounds and voice through the headset you'll need to get a 3rd party headset.

    I just checked the headset on my phone and they work perfectly fine.
    Do you have a second controller that you can check with the headset? Because it seems that the headset connector on that controller is defective, if not even sound output works, and the console doesn't detect the microphone.
