Can't Get my Wired Wireless X-Box 360 Controller To Work

Maybe I'm misinformed, but I believe it's possible to use old X-Box 360 controllers for PC games now. I'm not sure if this is only limited to just X-Box One games on PC or if it can be used for any game, but that's not my main problem here. I have a wireless
X-Box 360 controller that came with the Console, but I'm using it wired with the Play and Charge Kit.

The computer identifies the controller under Device Manager, but when I look under Game Controllers nothing shows up. Of course you can guess that it's not working for me in any of the games I've tried it on so far (which are Arkham City and Arkham Knight).
I've tried it with the console on and tv on, with the console on and tv off, and with the console plugged off. All my drivers are up to date so I'm not sure what I'm missing here. What should I do to try and get my controller to work properly on my PC? Apologies,
if this may have been under the wrong category.

(I have an Asus Vivbook, Windows 10 64 bit, i7 7700k, GTX 1050, and 16 GBs of RAM. Just listing if specs have anything to do with it.)

    :)

    Hi,

I'm sorry but you can't use a Play and Charge kit to play on PC with an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller. You need a specific wireless receiver. Here you can find all the information:

Can't Get my Wired Wireless X-Box 360 Controller To Work

    Hi,

Unlike the Xbox One controllers the wireless 360 controllers are always wireless. The play and charge doesn't send control data, therefore you can't make your wireless controller wired.

It will show in device manager when plugged in, but this is for automatic sync purposes with an Xbox 360 Gaming Receiver for Windows. If you want use this controller you'll need the receiver.

    Hope this helps.

Can't Get my Wired Wireless X-Box 360 Controller To Work

Maybe I'm misinformed, but I believe it's possible to use old X-Box 360 controllers for PC games now... I'm using it wired with the Play and Charge Kit.
With Xbox 360 controllers, the Play & Charge kit ONLY transmits power to the controller, but no controller commands back to the PC.

In order for your wireless Xbox 360 controller to work on your PC, you will have to buy the

    Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows
(do NOT mistake this for the
Xbox Wireless Adapter for Xbox One controllers
    ).

The Xbox 360 wireless controller can't transmit controller commands via USB cable, not even with the Play & Charge cable.

You would either have to buy a wired Xbox 360 controller (with a non-removable USB cable), or buy a Xbox One controller, where you can plug in any Micro USB cable or connect via Bluetooth (if you have Bluetooth capable PC).

Does anyone have the xbox 360 controller drivers??

Did your controller ever work before, or are you just trying to get it to work now?

The drivers for the Xbox 360 are not available for download independently anymore, and there is no reason for them to be, as Xbox 360 controllers have been natively supported by Windows since Windows Vista. The drivers can't be downloaded because they are already part of the Windows Operating System.

Is your controller wired or wireless?

Unlike Xbox One or Series X|S controllers, Xbox 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. If you've attempted to connect a Wireless Xbox 360 controller to your laptop with the Play and Charge cable, it won't work. This is because the Play and Charge does not send data. It will just flash. Xbox 360 wireless controllers need an Xbox 360 gaming receiver.

Only Xbox One or newer Series X|S controllers can be both wired and wireless.
