Can't get my account on a new xbox

so I just got the Xbox one x and I want to get my old account on the new console but when I try it creates an entirely different account even though I'm using my old email and I know it's the right email because I used the one that's under my gamertag on
the home screen of my Xbox one s yet it still creates an entirely different account with a different gamertag and none of my stuff there, games and such. So is there a way to get my old account on the new console or am I gonna have to get everything new again?
I've tried everything on the xbox support pages but nothing worked.

I can't link my xbox live subscription to my account on my new xbox one. Can you get a redeem code from my subscription. It seems the only wa to link the new console to my live account

 

Can't get into old account

I can't get into my old xbox live account, I've done the verify your ownership thing about 7 times all failed and was told to just make a new account on the website. But I can't get into my xbox one profile without the old account info.

How can you change accounts so you can get into the xbox live profile and play game and stuff?

 

during the setup you get the chance to login with your current account.

Make sure that every detail is entered exactly as it is on your old console.

That should do the trick.
