Can't get my 360 NAT type to Open

Hi, I recently bought an Xbox One and got it's NAT type to open, finally. The problem is, when I go back to play my 360, which I do occasionally, it gives me a moderate NAT error. For whatever reason my router won't let me forward the same port twice, for
example any ports I forwarded to my XB1 I can't forward to my 360. So my only options to my knowledge are to either use UPnP or DMZ. I have tried both and it's still moderate. Can anyone help me out?

I'm connecting to Live through an Inventel DV4210-WU wireless router, and am stuck at moderate/strict NAT (it changes from time to time between the two). UPnP has been activated, ports have been forwarded, the entire lists of solution offered by both Microsoft
and these forums have been worked through for both wired and wireless connection, and yet I still can't improve this at all.

Is there anything I could have missed that could helpp out, or anything specific to my router? I would greatly appreciate any assistance in the matter.

 

Hey there, Walshy DP! Sorry to see that you can't get an Open NAT on your 360. I see that you have both a 360 and an Xbox One. Not all routers can support multiple consoles. Can you post up what your router's model and manufacturer is? This way we can check
out if it's a router that won't be able to handle the traffic for two consoles.

Thanks for that bit of info, Walshy! When it comes to Home Hubs, there isn't any configuration that we can do on a user side; it should handle 2 consoles with very little issues. UPnP is the main option that you want to use since you have both consoles connected
up. DMZ and port forwarding are both only for one console, and only one can be set up at a time.

I suggest turning off the ports being forwarded to the Xbox One and only using UPnP. See if that works.

If that ends up not working, I'd call up BT to find out what is going on. The device itself may need a firmware update or something similar that they can help you out with.

Additional to Misses Q's suggestion, try use 'Always use this IP address', for each of your console's IP and have both your console's network settings set to obtain IP and DNS information 'Automatic'. This feature is located under 'Home Network'.

This method will allocate the DHCP server on your router to reserve these addresses (permanent use) from its pool of addresses.

You can also try disable UPnP and re-enable as follows.

Disable UPnP and power off your gateway for a couple of minutes.

Power on your gateway and wait one minute for it to connect properly.

Acess your router and enable UPnP. Reboot your device.

This will clear up the UPnP Portmap Table.
