Take into account the dates we are in and that in December there may be few staff working and many accumulated requests, the system is probably simply collapsed, don't worry, you are not the only user who is going through this.

This particular case usually occurs when your alias has been changed. Possibly from a bad actor compromising the account.

The account inactivity timer is reset whenever you log in.

In this case you would have to find your new alias.

The first idea is to directly log into your account with your phone number.

If this does not work, you can try to look for email receipts on alternative accounts or find accounts you made be logged into on different services.

Microsoft takes account security very seriously, that's why Account Recovery is an automated process with no human influence. If you don't have the correct information, you may not be able to get through account verification using the Recovery Form.

The Account Recovery Form requires adequate information to prove that you are the owner of the account. The Account Recovery Process can be a time consuming process, but providing as much info as possible from the start of the process will increase the possibility of being verified by the automated process. You'll need to keep trying until you're verified by Microsoft.

Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours. Just as of recent - i'm getting the same error. I gameshare with a friend of mine and she's able to get into my account using her controller - why can't I use my controller to get into my account anymore? I can't even play any games!
