Can't get Ethernet switch to work with Xbox One.

i installed an Ethernet switch so that I could run my Xbox One and 360 online without having to manually switch the cable from one to the other. I connected the cable from the wall into the first port (as it showed in the instructions), then connected cables
from both consoles, the 360 recognizes a wired conmection, but no matter how I try to rearrange the cables, I cannot get the Xbox One to recognize that it is wired. I would just use wireless, but our router is in the back of the house, and the walls don't
let the signal through very well, even with an extender. Anyone else have issues like this? What should I try? Right now, I am ready to just get my $25 back and put up with the manual switching. Thanks.

    :)

How i solve this [Help apreciated please]

    Hi,

So just to get this straight:-

Router installed in the dinner room

Ethernet cabling throughout the house to "your room" , so you plug your Desktop into the wall

    Is that right?

If so, no please do not buy another router it is not needed. If you need more ports please buy a cheap 5 port Ethernet switch and Ethernet cable. Most switches are "auto sensing" so you can connect the switch via an Ethernet cable to your wall port in your
room and then from that switch a connection to your desktop and Xbox.

If you can't get hold of an autosensing switch (most are) buy a crossover cable to connect the switch to the wall

  3. Wired Connection doesn't work

Connected my Xbox One X to my router with an ethernet cable and it will not stay connected to the internet. The wireless works though. However when I hook up my regular xbox one with the ethernet cable, it works fine. Why does my Xbox One X not work with
a wired connection? It can't be my router as every other device I have works with my router, just not my xbox one x wired to it...

    Installing a game

An ethernet will work if you can get a line directly to the router, which may be the difficult part. To hardwire both devices you would need an ethernet switch and two shorter ethernet lines from the switch to your devices. Unless you don’t mind switching
the one line back and forth between the two devices. If your current device seems to be performing well off the wireless, there is no reason that the laptop and a new XBox should have any real problems.

I hope you decide to join our gaming community. Best of luck.

Can't get the Ethernet connexion to work

All the 4 ports are working with a pc or my tv. But with the xbox only one works and the upload is near 0. So my guess is that the modem is fine.
