Can't get back into the main mission

After playing my optional missions, the game won't let me rejoin the main mission. It keeps flashing the "Objective" compass icon on the screen, but when I arrive at the spot, no one is there (Jacob) and nothing happens. I hope I don't have to start the
game from scratch. That would be a big waste of time. Help!

Because you need to progress further into the main story first. Come back after you've finished a few missions.

Either way its worth paying £19.99 for if you have to, dont be put off by its reputation, I put over 25 hours into it and still could go back and play through the missions again, I never did get an S rating. The side missions are great and the main mission
is a blinder!

 

Same here, even the compass and the Jacob, I go there and there's nothing there. Please help us, I have made a lot of progress in the game, and I don't want to lose it. Is there a way to fix it?

 

I will try to do a better explanation about the problem:

1) I was on the main mission in wich you have to explore the Geothermal Valley;

2) Then I used fast travel to go back to the Soviet Gulag to take some collectibles that I forget;

3) At some point during the exploration of the Gulag (I can't say exactly where) the main misson turned to "Find Jacob on the train" (or something like that - a mission that I had already done);

Is there a way to get back my last main mission (explore the geothermical valley)? ***, I have almost 50% of the game completed on the hardest difficulty! I don't wanna to lose it.

I was loving this game, but this king of *** is very disappointing, I think I will play fallou 4 (lol) and forget about ROTTR while this bug isn't fixed.
