Can't get any backward compatible games to work.

Hello,

I have gone 0 for 4 on backward compatible games working on my Xbox One since updating to the new Xbox One Experience.

Ikaruga - Title art screen appears > kicked back to the Home Screen with no progress.

Castle Crashers - Title art screen appears > kicked back to the Home Screen with no progress.

Assassin's Creed 2 - Refused to install properly despite multiple tries.

Gears of War - Xbox 360 logo appears > Crashes immediately.

I have tried reinstalling all of the titles, hard reset for each game, and starting and quitting from the Home screen. Nothing works. Can someone plz help me?

My system is the Day One Xbox One, hopefully that isn't the cause, but there's the info anyway.

I really want to play some of my older games, but so far have had no luck, which is frustrating.

What games will play on an xbox one S?

Any Xbox One games will work and any original Xbox/360 games that are backwards compatible will work. You can find a list of backwards compatible games here - Xbox One Backward Compatibility

 

Can't buy backwards compatible games on marketplace?

It's not gears 3, (for as far as i know gears 3 is not backwards compatible)

I can't download any backwards compatible game.

Is there another way then to log in on a xbox 360 console? like if i buy a physical disc of a backwards compatible game, would it work then? and would i be able to download 360 games after that.

 

I have Gears, but haven't tried it yet.

Can try to clear the system cache:

Too bad you missed out on the Castle Crashers give away. Think it expired in december for anyone that had the 360 version.

 

Unfortunately this has not fixed the problem and I am still unable to play any of the backwards compatible games. I'm losing confidence in Xbox with every problem that I've had with installations and running games.

 

Are the games saved on an external hard drive?

If the games are saved on an external drive it may be worth saving it on your Xbox One console's internal storage. If that doesn't help as well as the power cycle you tried please be sure to submit a Survey as outlined in
