That being said, I find it appropriate to ask: Where are you physically located? Does this friend that you want to redeem the code are located in the same place/country as you?

Additionally, what's the exact error message your friend is getting when attempting to redeem the code?

These questions are asked because gifts and redeemable codes are region locked. Therefore, in case your friend sees a message saying something like “the code is from a different region.” They will not be able to redeem the code because they need to be physically located in your country, and their Microsoft account region needs to be set in the same country as well.

Not only that, but please note that this region restriction can't be bypassed, and attempting to bypass these restrictions is against the Microsoft Store terms & conditions.
