Can't get a Wlan connection

Hi, since the Update I can't get any Wlan connections. My Xbox One S is since I turned it the first time on, on the same place so the is only a problem with the Update. But now is the question what it is. With Lan-cable I can't work because if I do, then
I need a 20m cable.

Please help me out

:)

Xbox Cant connect to my network

Is your console connected wirelessly to your network or do you use a wired LAN cord to connect the console to the router?

If you use a wireless WLAN connection, if possible, connect your console with a LAN cable for testing purposes. If the console then stays connected properly, there is a very high probability, that outside interference is causing your WLAN connection to get
disrupted, and the console loses the signal to your router.

Try and download inSSIDer from this website, and check with your PC (if it is WLAN capable) if there are neighboring WLANs broadcasting on the same channel as your WLAN. Keep in mind however, that even if the channel is different, nearby WLAN channels overlap.
The only channels NOT overlapping themselves are the channels 1, 6 and 11. So if a neighbor for example has a WLAN broadcasting on channel 4, this WLAN also affects WLANs on channels 1, 2, 3 as well as 4 (obviously), 5, and 6.

Additionally, other wireless devices using the 2.4GHz frequency range, can interfere with your WLAN. For example garage door openers, DECT cordless phones, baby monitors and even Microwave ovens can disrupt your WLAN signal.

And these devices don't have to be in your own home. Your neighbor cooking up some Nachos with cheese in his Microwave might be the culprit disconnecting you.

If you find, that WLAN interference is the culprit, but you can't run a network cable to your router, try a set of homeplug adaptors, that use your home's electrical lines as a wired network.

Devolo
is the most known maker of homeplugs, but there are others as well.

Double Network Problem
Hey Guys!

@

I think this cause the problem, i use an WLAN repeater at my room for better network. When i remove it it doesn't give a double network error, but i can't connect with the network because my signal is to weak.

How could i fix it?

...
I reset the WLAN repeater and it worked out!
Really nice,
As an additional recommendation (although it's unrelated to your previous problem): If you put a WLAN Repeater into the same room that your console has trouble connecting to, then the Repeater only gets a weak signal as well, and steps down the connection
speed.

So, if possible, put the repeater somewhere in the middle of the WLAN base station and the console. That way the repeater can relay with the fastest connection speed possible.

But glad it worked out for you now Can't get a Wlan connection :)

Can't get a Wlan connection

Before we get started, please provide any troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, so we don't post up solutions that may only echo back.

You may also want to provide the make and model of your modem, along with your wireless router.

Does your WLAN infrastructure consists of more than just your wireless router, or do you also use an wireless extender for RF coverage?

Wifi connects then drops upon sign in - help, my son is heartbroken!!

After you followed the instructions of heldbowl3 above, also check if wireless interference is causing the console to drop the connection.

If possible, try to connect the console with a LAN cord instead of a WLAN connection. Is the console now staying connected?

If yes, try to find out, if there are other wireless devices around you that interfere with your WLAN.

You can find neighbouring WLANs with the help of the
free inSSIDer tool
, that you run on your WLAN enabled PC. See if your WLAN broadcasts on the same channel as other WLANs. Also keep in mind, that nearby channels affect the next 2 channels up and down as well.

For example: If a neighbour is using Channel 4 for his WLAN, channels 2, 3, 5 and 6 will be used by that WLAN, and will therefore interfere with all WLANs on channel 1 (as these use 2 and 3), through channel 8 (as 8 will also use channel 6 used by the WLAN
on channel 4). The only channels that don't interfere with each other are channels 1, 6, and 11. If these channels are already used by others, try to use the weakest or less used channel for your WLAN.

Also try and see if there are other wireless devices that broadcast in the WLAN frequency of 2.4 GHz. These could be wireless baby monitors, cordless phones, garage door opener remotes and the likes. Even Microwave ovens interfere in the 2.4GHz range when in
operation.

If you find your WLAN to be too "polluted" by outside interference that you can't control (i.e. you can't force your neighbour to turn off their baby monitor), you might want to consider using homeplug adaptors that transmit network signals over your houses
mains powerlines. For example Devolo is the most known maker of such homeplugs, but there are many others.

Trying to connect to Xbox Live using Internet Connection Sharing or Network Bridge on laptop

On your Laptop, check if your WLAN Adapter has a custom driver from the Laptop manufacturer, that automatically turns off WLAN if a LAN cable is connected. It might just be a feature of your WLAN adapter software.
