Can't get a Teredo IP address

Why hello there.

I got a 1 month free trial of Xbox Live Gold the other day, but when I tried to get into a Halo 5 multiplayer match, I would be redirected to Xbox Home where my Xbox offered me a paid subscription. Trying to obtain the 1 month trial again, just to be sure that
something hadn't gone wrong in the initial subscription process, I was told that I could "only have one of those at a time." Looking at my subscriptions on my account in the Microsoft store shows that the gold trial is active, but examining my subscriptions
from my Xbone, it again asks me to pay for a subscription, apparently not detecting that I already had one.

I was looking around at other people's problems to see if this has been talked about already, and I saw mention of a multiplayer connection testing in the network settings page that I had not done yet. So I did, and I got an error message 2/3 of the way through
the testing process saying, "Can't get a Teredo IP address." I did the unplug the router for 30 seconds thing, and tested it again after another 30 seconds, and got the same error message. I selected "That didn't work," at which point a message came up saying,
"Make sure UDP port 3544 isn't blocked on your router. For more info, visit xbox.com/xboxone/tereo." The URL led to a "page not found" message, and I don't know what a UDP port is or how to begin to inspect the ports on my router. I saw a recommendation on
youtube from someone who had had a similar problem to mine saying that restoring the Xbox to default settings would fix the problem. So I did that, did a slow boot up, re-signed in to my live account, and did the test again with identical results.

My IP is Frontier fiber. It's a campus-wide IP at a university, and I have my own router in my university-owned apartment. Router brand is SMC Networks, router number is SMC2555W-AG2. My NAT type is "Strict."

I use my Xbox to browse the internet and to watch Youtube videos, so it is not a connectivity issue in general. It seems to be a problem specific to multiplayer that also prevents my Xbox from communicating with my Microsoft account with regard my Xbox Live
membership status.

I've really been looking forward to getting pwned by the Halo tryhards online. Can your computer magic help me?

Can't get Teredo IP Address

I cannot play online nor join a party of any kind because I keep getting the following error: "Can't get a Teredo IP Address."

I have all the following ports open:

TCP: 53, 80, 3074

UDP: 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500

-UpnP is Enabled

-Xbox One X Factory Reset 3x

-Modem reset

Nothing works for more then 24hrs., this is incredibly frustrating.

EDIT: I have a wired connection and it's connected via IPv4

I'm not really sure how "campus-wide IP " works but I'm guessing there is some "double nat" going on (nat on their end and on yours as well ) the router your using may not be "xbox friendly " if you can get a cheapie Netgear you could test to see if
it works (netgear IS xbox friendly and does UPNP well and will let whatever ports are needed to open) if nat still "strict", its gona be on the campus end , then you would need to see of they can give you your own ip or open ports and such...

Hi WilliamSalmeron, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

To fix this, make sure that all the packs and add-ons required for the games are installed. To do so, please follow the steps below:

"1. In My games & apps, highlight the game Call Of Duty Cold War (but don't select it).

2. Press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game and add-ons.

3. Select the game in the upper-right corner of the screen.

4. Choose Manage installation on [drive name]. This displays a list of items, including the base game and any available add-ons or game features.

5. Select the tickbox for each item that you want to install (or untick to uninstall).

6. Select Save changes."

Once you have to make sure that they're all installed it should fix the issue wherein the console is asking you to purchase it.

Now to fix the issue with your multiplayer connection please follow the steps below as per Xbox Support:

"Make sure your router has the latest update"

"Make sure your router has Teredo connectivity enabled."

Once done, perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
