    Can't get a Teredo address and NAT keeps switching to Strict


    So, this problem has been going on for a few weeks and I thought I had fixed it. However, last week it popped up again so I am mostly at my wits end trying to solve it.

    I am unable to get a Teredo address for my Xbox One and have tried several different things to fix it. Enabling UPnP, disabling UPnP, disabling IPv6, forwarding ports, clearing alternate mac, hard resets, power cycling network equipment, and all combinations
    of those. DMZ is not an option for me as that utility is already being used by someone else. I checked my ports with
    http://scanme.firebind.com/applet.html and they are all open so I am still at a loss for what the issue is. Detailed network statistics reports thus for Detailed NAT information: "Your network
    is behind a firewall (or not connected)"

    What Country/State/Province do you live in? USA, Maryland

    Modem brand & model number: No modem

    Router brand & model number: Actiontec MI424-WR Gen-3I, Hardware Version I

    Wired or wireless: Wired

    Things you have tried: Listed above

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes and No, tried both

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? NAT type is open at the moment, but often switches back to Strict

    Any Error Codes you encounter:

    Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Verizon FiOs

    Unable to connect to party chat at all on Xbox One. NAT type always strict and "Can't get a Teredo IP address" error testing multiplayer connection.

    Yes, NAT type shows strict and testing the multiplayer connection yields this error: 'Can't get a Teredo IP address'

    Can connect to Xbox live but can't connect to game servers.

    I had the same issue. Is your NAT strict? Run a multiplayer test to see what error your having. I was receiving can't get a teredo up address. Factory reset all settings in my modem and it now works.

    Some additional info since the forum won't let me update anymore:

    At the moment, only UPnP is enabled, no ports are forwarded, and IPv6 is disabled which has me with an open NAT, however it will likely soon become Strict, and still unable to get a Teredo address. The Xbox One is going through a TrendNet TEG-S80g (Version
    v2.0R) but the same results happened when plugging straight in and bypassing the switch. As well, the Xbox One has a static IP address.
