Can't find Teredo IP - Not multiplayer connection - Strict NAT

Hello,

I've had my xbox one since November with no issues until a few days ago. When testing connection, everything appears as good, the issue appears to be with the multiplayer connection. When testing this connection it says can't find a Teredo IP. I have followed
all the steps on the microsoft help and a number of advisers but the issue is no resolved. This is not an issue with the internet router as altering the settings backward and forwards is not resolving the solution.

When looking at the details it says the NAT status as strict and that: "Your network is behind a firewall (or not connected)."

The packet loss has been at 100% up until about an hour ago, it is now 1% but still no multiplayer connection.

If anyone could advise on how to solve this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have allready spoken Microsoft and my ISP and tried all the things they said, nothing helped.

Sure sounds like a router problem ...or your isp , but list the following info and it will help....

How many Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are connected to this router?:

I live in the UK, have a TP link router model Archer C2.

Used to be two xboxs connected but took the other one off in attempt to solve the problem.

Yes the UPnP is enabled,

the NAT is strict

Our IPS is BT i think but due to living in student accommodation with wifi included we don't have the specific details.

Everything was working fine since September but suddenly stopped.

 

so you connect wirelessly to the schools wifi ? If so , most likely , they have you behind a layer of NAT already...does your router connect to the schools wi fi then your xbox connects to your router ? If yes , then just connect the xbox straight up to
the schools wi fi and bypass your router....you also may have to contact the schools IT dept and have them put your xbox's mac address on the "good boy" list...you can also try and "restore to defaults" on your router and see if that helps but if it does ,
most likely , it will soon revert...

 

No I mean due to being students we are in a flat block where the wifi is included in our rent so is already set up by the landlord.

We've tried resetting the router, but don't understand why this would happen now with no changes?

 

how does your router connect to the internet ? If your router connects to your landlords wifi , then the xbox should be able to also , without YOUR router , which may be causing double NAT , as to why now , could be anything , the isp might have pushed
a firmware update , landlord may have changed something ...does your xbox "see" the landlord wi fi AND your routers wifi?

 

When connecting directly to the internet through the wall port without the router the problem is still there so don't think it is an issue with the router. Tried the 360 earlier and that won't connect at all.

 

You will have to get with the landlord then , the nat is on his end ...ports are blocked or a firewall is enabled...

 

Depending on how cool he is you might ask if he will forward some ports , or it may be easier if he would put your Xbox in the DMZ...you would need a static ip from him also...or give him the Xboxs mac address...

 

First things first..

1. Do you use wireless or wired connection?
   
   1.1. If you use wired connection, check your cable. If possible try another cable.
   
   1.2. If you use wireless connection, check that you have strong signal, and there is no interference from other devices or neighbours. There is plenty of apps for mobile devices today so you can download some of these apps and move around and check wifi
   signal.
2. Check that there is no ip conflicts. Happens sometimes if you have too many devices home. So be sure that there is no IP conflicts.
   
3. How other devices are working? Are there some problems lately?
4. Follow this tutorial how to achieve open NAT, step by step -> How To - Achieving an Open NAT Guide : xboxone
   
5. If still nothing, and you are also checked that everything is fine with your mdoem/router and line connection (contact with your ISP just to be sure), then only thing is left is contact wih Microsoft support and send your console to repair. Or if is it
   possible let your friend bring his console and check how it works in your network. It helps top figure out is it console problem or is there something else going.

Thank you for your help, still not solved the problem but what was interesting is that when following the reddit tutorial, for a few minutes the NAT did change to moderate but this didn't last long, not sure why or how this happened though.
