Can't find any drivers on my PC for Xbox One Wireless Adapter

Just bought the Xbox One Wireless Adapter for use with my Windows 10 PC, however when I connect the device nothing happens. Trying to solve this problem on my own, I have read online that the adapter doesn't auto-install any drives, as these are
embedded within the Windows 10 operating system " Troubleshoot the XBox Wirless Adapter for Windows - support.xbox.com".

Further reading also suggest, that in case of partially installed drives I should carryout the following:

Go to your Device Manager.

Locate Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows in the Network adapters section.

Click Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to bring up the Properties window.

Click on the Driver tab.

On the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button.

On the confirmation window, check Delete the driver software for this device.

Unplug the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and reboot your Windows 10 device. Once the device is back on, plug in the adapter.

If the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows still does not install, follow all of the above steps thoroughly one more time. If this doesn't work, your adapter needs to be replaced.

The problem I am having is when I look in Network Adapters, there is nothing labelled XBox Wireless Adapter, nor can I find any drivers for use with the Xbox Wireless Adapter. Checking with Windows Update, my system is up to date (as of the date of this
post) and I have all drivers installed.

Can you advice my how I install the drivers needed with the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

The advice given is accurate. There are no drivers to install that are not native. If yoy have nothing new in device manager the device is not being detected. You should hear the new device tone and get a notification that its been detected followed shortly
by its ready to use. If none of this is happening then there are only two possible problems. Either the USB port isnt active/not working or the adapter is faulty. Try a known good port, if that doesnt work then replace the adaptor.

Hi XBF Brad A,

Thanks for the link, but I'm slightly confused. In the troubleshoot guild, I'm advised to look for the "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows" in the "Network adapters" section of Device Manager.

However when I do this I can't find nothing titled "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows".

Should this be in "Network adapters" and is the reason why my Xbox Wireless Adapter working. If so how do I re-install this driver/

Sorry for the issue with the drivers. They all should be plug and play. Here is a troubleshoot guide for the Xbox
wireless adapter. Try all these steps out and let us know. Make sure your PC is completely up to date also.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

I'm now beginning to suspect USB adapter may be faulty. Going to try it on a firends computer and see how it fairs.
