Can't Figure Out to use HDMI Port for Gaming on HP 20-c013w

I have about exhausted about an hour of my life trying to find anything on my pc to help and online with this issue. I feel I am fairly resourceful and intelligent, but I am stumped. I can't understand why nothing comes up in search function for 'HDMI,'
or 'HDMI Port.' Not too impressed with HP. The computer has that port!

Well, my Nintendo Switch has been it's green light on and the wifi control is on as well, so that leads me to think somehow it's being recognized by the pc, but no video or audio. Can someone help me figure this out?

Pretty sure that's an hdmi OUT port, not input.

To check this, connect it from pc to an hdmi IN on your tv, and you should see pc output on tv, you may need to select this as an output via windows.

But yeah, if you're trying to use monitor as a display for your switch, I dont think you can

I thought you would be able to. Xbox One has both HDMI in and HDMI out. Otherwise what's the use of HP putting it there? I have an HP Pavilion dv6.

I've tried hooking up my Xbox 360 Slim and my Xbox 1 console to my HP Pavilion dv6. It... hello... has an HDMI port, but the reason why my PC isn't picking it up is because others on here say something like it's the wrong kind of HDMI that are built on HP
Pavilion 15' PC's. I can play my Desktop and what I do on my PC on my HDTV, but can't use my PC as a monitor from my Xbox consoles.
