Can't enter settings

When I press the menu button on the controller, then select Settings, the screen goes full screen black with the white gear in the center (as if it is entering settings) - but it just sits there for about a minute, then minimizes down to the main window
on the normal screen display. Any ideas as to why I can't enter Settings any more?

Cant enter in settings

Hello,sorry ,my english is poor. Yesterday i play and joypad disconnect, my joypad is connected with cable and i have a little damage port in joypad,in this situation i think this is port malfunction but no! Disconnect 3 times and 4 time logo button on joypad
has blinking and i must reset console. After reset i cant enter in console settings,i hearing clicking on menu on settings but i cant enter. Hard reset and nothing i disconnect console from electricity and now disconnect and nothing,cant enter in settings

Nooo! Can't enter

Hi

So, I can remember my profile name and email that is connected to that. But when I'm asked for the password I can' remember.

I don' t have the email address anymore so when they send me a reset code to that address I can' t see it. Anyway you can get them to send the reset code to another email instead of the one I don' t have anymore?

1: Push the console power button for 5-10 seconds until it turns off

2: Unplug the power cord from the console - (has to be from the console)

3: Wait 1 minute

4: Plug back in and power up console with button

Should hopefully be working okay now. If not let us know

I tried that - waited longer than a minute - but it didn't make any difference. I still can't get into the settings.

ok, axemator. your suggestion did work once I recognized the difference between the kinect cable and the power cable! Thanks for the help.

The same thing has sort of happened to me. I can see things on my screen but, everything has frozen. I can't access any of the settings.... Help!

May I also point out that this issue can also occur if the console is plugged in to a power strip that is faulty or contains a surge protector. Surge protectors do not work well with the Xbox One console, causing very odd issues. The last person I helped
with getting to the settings screen had their console plugged in to a power strip. Once they plugged the console directly into the mains, the problem went away.

I had this problem to.. I would click on the settings and my xbox was freezing on a black screen written "Preferences" in the top left corner. I unplug the power source from my xbox and wait for about a minute. I ALSO, plug the other end of the cable straight
into the wall instead of in a "tap bar extension". Problem solve!

OK, so we have managed to get rid of the parent controls, but I still can't enter Multiplayer, even though I have set the Multiplayer settings in my Microsoft account to be allowed

Full reset, now it wont even allow me to set up the TV tuner. After entering my ZIP code, it just says "We can't find your TV providers".

I get this message under both Settings > TV & OneGuide > OneGuide > USB TV Lineup (says "Not set" and can't set it) and Settings > TV & OneGuide > TV Tuner (says "Complete" but can't change it.)

Your DNS server can't resolve Xbox LIVE server names

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Wired Network if you are prompted to do so.

Select Configure Network.

On the Basic Settings tab, select IP Settings.

Select Manual, and then select IP Address.

Enter 192.168.0.2, and then select Done.

Select Subnet Mask, enter 255.255.255.0, and then select Done.

Select Gateway, enter 192.168.0.1, and then select Done.

On the Basic Settings tab, select DNS Settings.

Select Manual.

Select Primary DNS Server.

Enter 192.168.0.1, and then select Done.

Select Done again.

Press B on your controller, and then select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

I can't enter the broadcast setting part. I have a message saying "an error has occurred" can't do anything else but quite the app.

I tried with two other friends and same problem : can't include my party chat to the stream.

That's the problem. I have it set to instant sign in. When it tries to sign me in, it says sorry that it can't and I have to enter my password manually. All the settings are correct, they just don't work like they did before.
