  1. Can't enable Auto HDR/HDR10 video setting

Is this a known reported issue?

TV - LG UN6970 (supports HDR10, HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color enabled for HDMI input)

AV Receiver - Sony STR-DH790 (supports HDR pass through, amp HDMI set to Enhanced, firmware needs updated)

Cables - Ultra HD 2.1 up to 8K (used multiple brands between standard & High Speed)

When my Series X is plugged to the Receiver & the Receiver plugs into the TV, I have the following General -> Video Modes available & selected: Allow 50Hz, Allow 24Hz, Allow YCC 4:2:2, Allow 4K. All other options are grayed out and not able to be selected (most notably Allow HDR & HDR10).

When my Series X is plugged directly to the TV, I have the following General -> Video Modes available & selected: Allow 50Hz, Allow 24Hz, Allow YCC 4:2:2, Allow 4K, Allow auto low-latency mode. All other options are grayed out and not able to be selected (once again, no HDR).

I'm not quite sure what I'm missing here and why I can't enable HDR when both of my components have HDR features.

Is there anything I could try to get HDR enabled or is this an issue that needs a fix?

Xbox Series X sudden low brightness

Hello , I'm Nilay and I'll be glad to answer your query today. Go to settings, general settings, tv display, video modes, turn on AUTO hdr and the other hdr setting, After doing the above step hope there will be a fix. Good Luck Regards
Auto HDR and HDR10 are turned on already.

HDR not working with BenQ EW277HDR monitor

    Hi,

    Thank you for the answer.

Yes, I can confirm I have HDR enabled in the video modes, along with auto-detect. I followed every step of the 4K & HDR troubleshooter on the Help page (even though it's mainly aimed at 4K), and none of the steps proposed worked.

I can also confirm that there is no setting to enable on the monitor, it just auto-detects the signal when it's being output.

Example: when I turn on my PS4, the monitor displays in Standard mode. When I open a game on the PS4 supporting HDR10 (such as Mass Effect Andromeda), the monitor will auto-switch to HDR mode and display that content correctly once the game menu gets displayed.
    Nothing else to do.

On the Xbox One X, whenever I open an HDR game (such as Rise of the Tomb Raider) the monitor continues displaying in Standard mode, and I can't alter the HDR slider in the game's options since the feature is not being picked up. When I check the
4K details in the Video options, it's displaying that my display is not HDR10 compatible.

First try to UNPLUG POWER to CONSOLE and wait 2 mins, then plug power back in , TURN ON and SIGN IN, now test again, if still issue, try to see if the game start - it might be enabling HDR on TV, which the settings might change, so try to adjust tv
settings for brightness and mode - after game start. If still issue, try to go to xbox settings, then Display & Sound, then Video Output, then Video Modes, now uncheck auto low-latency mode, and uncheck HDR10. See if any change, see which settings stops
it from dimming. You want to have HDR enabled but for testing - we will see what settings is causing it.

Xbox one x not detecting hdr10 sony x800e

Oh, by the by, I found it under external inputs.
I'm having the same issue with my 900E. I just tried your fix, and that setting did need to be enabled, but the X still isn't recognizing HDR10.

Under "Watching Movies & TV" it says "Your TV supports 4K 10-bit at 24hrz" and "Your TV supports HDR video"

Under "Playing Games" it says "Your TV setup does not support HDR10 for gaming. Games will not be shown in HDR."

I have also manually enable HDR10 in the TV settings. Not sure what else to do.

Just to be sure. Go to TV and video options and under video modes disable low latency mode, hdr10, auto HDR and Dolby Vision if you use and test games again.
