Can't edit live status, support pages infinite loop

Hi folks, I noted today my account has been 'suspended' without notice. I changed my paypal a while back and have no intention of renewing gold status. I assumed it would automatically defer to silver instead of gold, as would most folks.

Instead, MS have stopped me accessing my account in any capacity and the help pages seem to be in need of updating, the telephone support is down (no number offered, just a note to say the office is closed) and I can't get the system to understand that I
do not want a gold membership. I also tried to talk/chat with an ambassador but the popup kept looping around & around & around...

Can anyone advise please?

Xbox Live Service Status page and clicking the Notify Me button to stay in the loop as to when it's back up again!

An error occurred cancelling automatic renewal.

And this statement on >this< page seems incorrect.

You can also just let your LIVE time run out and then remove your payment method entirely.

You will need to contact customer support for this issue. Select support and then contact us and make sure at the bottom of your page you have the correct country selected to get the correct support hours. But if your account has been suspended most likely
you owe money on the account and if you ever want the suspension lifed you'll need to pay the ballance of with customer support. The loop will remain, you can not take any action on your account while you are suppeded. If setting up a chat do not select ambassador
because they will not be able to help, onlt Microsoft chat or phone can help.

EE have done all that and given me the code - I am stuck on an infinite loop on a Microsoft page that keeps asking about Ad preferences... I can't go any further because Microsofts ad preferences page won't let me ???
