Can't download...

Hi!

On the 2nd of December, 2014, I purchased Mirror's Edge from games on demand. I have not been able to download it to this day, the download always interrupts and fails before completion. I have tried re-downloading it several times, I've gone through the
forums and done what's been suggested to others with the same problem; I have deleted the corrupted content left on the hard drive after failed attempts, I have deleted those system things I don't remember the name, I have cleared the cache in the options,
I have even changed my region (yes, both on the console and in my Microsoft account through the computer) since I'm originally from Canada but am staying in Portugal for the next year (and I frown upon the fact that because of this region change so much content
- both on the xbox and here - is now in Portuguese). The purchase was made, I was already here, I have since purchased and downloaded other content with no issues, so I'm sure everything is working fine, from the xbox servers to my own internet,

The only thing I can add is that usually the download goes up to around 70~80% an then: "can't dowload"...

I was going to say that it's the only item with which I have this problem, but actually, Halo Reach - that was given through the Games with Gold program - has the same issue, although I haven't tried that one lately, I have also exhausted myself trying in the
past.

I understand this being a forum it's most likely to not get the attention of official Microsoft support, but I suppose it's one more thing I'd have to do before I try making phone calls and sending e-mails...

Sorry to hear it. It seems the issue lies with region in your case. Because you are in Portugal at the moment that is probably the issue. I presume that you made the purchase while your gamertag was still set for Canada. Some content cannot be downloaded
to a region for which it was not intended. There is no workaround for it.

However, the game will stay in your download history (Settings>Accounts>Download History). Upon return to Canada you should be able to download the game without issues.

 

Don't get me wrong, but I don't believe that's the issue here, and I'll explain why: The first time it was downloading (the day I purchased it) there was an Internet breakdown, and consequently the download failed. Furthermore, after that I've also purchased
Assassin's Creed Liberation HD and all good. And what about Halo Reach, which was already behaving so in Canada?

At last, I'd like to add that I only did the region change today, just before I posted the thread.

Again, you may be right, and thanks for your feedback, but I think you're wrong.

I still believe it's some sort of reminiscence of the broken downloads.

Also, I will put your theory to the test. I'd like to format my hard drive, but it's practically full and I really don't feel like backing up all the saves to the cloud, nor I'm sure the lousy half gig would be enough, let alone download all the games there
again, plus risking getting into the situation that you mention, and I know can happen.

I also don't know anybody here (yet) with an Xbox, or I'd sign in and try =/ ...it's either that or buy another hard drive, and only then I can be sure...

Alas my problem persists for the meantime.

hello fellow gamers,

i also have this exact same problem kynos, it all started because i wanted to change the region for my accnt so my games would download in english, since they were in spanish once i donwloaded them.

so what i did was change the region to us, and after that i wast able to download SOME games, not all, including halo reach wich i also got for free.

i have purchaced a few other games like Fight night: champion, darksiders 2 and dragon age 2( these were able to download no problem) but for some reason lego marvel superheroes and kingdoms of amaleur werent. so i would think it could be the region issue
so i will try to change it back to mexico and se if that works
