Can't download Xbox One Live Gold games

My son was given a subscription to Xbox One Live Gold for a year. He's been using it without any problems for a couple of months (it expires in March 2018), but now we can't download any games at all.

If we click on the games marked as "Free with GOLD" we get to a screen which says "Xbox Live Gold expires 1/3/2018" and a list of options to buy, redeem a token or extend membership. There doesn't seem to be any way of downloading them for free.

As I say, he has downloaded several games like this before, but now can't seem to do it. There is still plenty of space on the drive, by the way. His username is YouWILLlose5895, but he doesn't have an email address linked to the account (I don't think).

Any help greatly appreciated, as the membership time is ticking by...

Problem with Xbox Live Gold

Hi

I have Xbox Live Gold until July/2017, but isn't working.

I can't download the games "Free with Gold", I can't play online because I don't have the permission required.

Any help?

My son has a paid xbox live gold subscription and I am able to download the free xb1 games under it including the rated M ones because I do not have content restrictions set.

Are you saying there is some special restriction that you can't download the free xbox 360 games under a child xbox live gold account?

For download X360 games on Xbox ONE from Games with Gold. You must have a credit card added to your MS account. Then you can download the game. If you still can't check your Xbox Live Gold membership. Check the status of your Xbox Live services. If everything
is fine then wait a few days and try again. Usually, the problem is global.

I also have the same problem. Bought the Xbox One X on release day, i used the 14 day Xbox Live Gold code on the same day and i still can't play Multiplayer. I can download the Xbox live gold games of the month like you can but when i go into multiplayer
in a game it says i don't have a Gold subscription and it takes me back to the store where it says Xbox Live Gold expires on 11/21/2017. So it must be active but i can't use it :/

You can't have access to the Games with Gold with trial membership. 48-hour or 14-day trial codes will not put you in "Gold" status. You will have access to online play during those 14-days but you will not have the full benefits of a paying gold member,
one of which is the Games with Gold.

In the page of games with gold you will find the following terms:

Games with Gold offer for paid Gold members only; active Gold membership required to play downloaded Xbox One games. Each participating game (selected by Xbox) available for download from Xbox Store during specific window; available games may vary by country.
Some titles may only be available for download by adult account holders 18 years and older. Xbox Live Terms of Use and system requirements, see xbox.com/live.
