Can't download Xbox Live content

Same problem here.

Been happening for months.

First time it happened was when tomb raider was games on demand.

It's now happening far too often and there is clearly a problem with xbox live.

Have tried downloading Mafia II 3 times today each time deleting the partial download and starting again. Used a different download method each time, Wired directly to router, Wired to 5Ghz bridge and build in wifi adaptor.

Have tried everything. Wired, wireless, new HDD.

I've come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with xbox live. It's as though it sends corrupt downloads to users requiring them to delete the partial download to try again.

FIX IT MICROSOFT

Also like to say I have zero packet loss, an consistently open NAT and a 75meg fibre connection.

I have no problems with my xbox one, ps3 and ps4. It'sa only my 360 that gives me problems. And I'm using the same router I was using when 360 worked fine.

 

@malacath you should know to make your own thread and list the appropiate info

Your fibre connection who is it with and the modem

If bt hub or superhub you need to replace them

 

Made new thread, but posted here because I agree with the OP. There is something wrong with xbox live. Has been for months and nothing is getting done about it.

I've searched these forums and google and seeing that it is a regular problem especially for games on demand getting the can't download error. Been happening regularly since tomb raider was on games with gold.

 

Okay, so I've been looking into this because I am having the exact same problem, and also only with my Xbox 360.

this may sound odd but I've read on 2 occasions that if you stay on the active download screen that it would download normally. I am trying this out right now with mafia 2, I will try and get back to yoI guys if this turns out to work.

 

So far so good, I'm at about 30% right now. Couldn't get past 4% at first so It looks like it's working

 

Yep I've read that and have tried it. Staying on the active download screen seems to be working so far.

Today I have downloaded 3 games from my download history and they downloaded just fine.

Starting to look like there is a bug in the dashboard software that causes downloads to fail and get corrupted if you play games or apps while something is downloading. Also point out that downloading using background downloads feature when the console Is
switched off also gives this error when switching back on.

I will be downloading more games after the same way so I can confirm that there is a bug.

Now all we need is someone who is in the 360 preview program to report this bug in the 360 preview forums. In the hope that MS see it and start working on a fix.

no disrespect but there are literally hundrets of threads here on the xbox forums about the "can't download" problem and you still say that it's not Microsoft's issue, but on the other hand you recognise the Virgin issue because thousands of others have
issues? You can't be serious that hundrets reporting issues in the past two months are wrong?

 

For various reasons kool you cant lump everything as the same since most are actually region lock errors which are international laws not download errrors

Every situation is different

Background downllads vs vpns or incorrect region

Completely different solution and fixes

 

Woth virgin rhe enormous amounts of errors with ALL services says its an setting in their gateway

 

With people getting reimbursement for the fix

 

@kool read the individual threads not all are due to time outs

Some are actually region based errors with one soltlution match your actual region

2Nd virgin its an widespread isp issue with 1000s of cases on multiple services especially downloads

3Rd background easy fix focus on rhe download just like yku would on aapc it gives greater priority to the download
