Can't download xbox app via ms store

I'm getting the following error code: 0x80072F8F when trying to install the xbox app. can't install my games without it. This so called ms store is the worst **** ever, the amount of errors is sickening. 0 issues with all the other launchers/clients!

It seems that right now there is an outage for Xbox Live services due to lot of players are contacting us regarding the same.

The best option for now is try waiting couple minutes or 1 hour to see if the outage finally can be fixed (this is an estimated time, there is no ETA yet)

I have done some checking today, downloading things from the Xbox App and MS Store on a network connection that has a maximum of 78MB/s:

MS Store: Download speeds, once they get going, maintain a speed of between 55 and 65MB/s. 80-90% of my maximum speed is acceptable

Xbox App: Download Speeds maintain a speed of between 5-8MB/s.

The XBox App I tried about an hour after trying on the MS Store today so no major difference. Given how buggy and poor the Xbox App is, am not surprised.

Of course, this doesn't help with your slow speeds via the MS Store!

Am curious: Have you tried downloading the games direct through the MS Store rather than via the Xbox App? The Store will give you an option for downloading via Game Pass. Worth a try if you haven't. personally, I have never experienced decreased speeds through the Store (well, asides from expected busy times etc)

Hi there,

you can't change or install any apps by downloading the .exe or installer file on the Xbox One console.

Apps can only updated via My Games and Apps or installed via the Store on the console.

I don't think there is a way to delete anything that was downloaded via a browser on the console, it might already be automatically deleted too, but there is no way to check that as far as I know.
