Can't download update, tried everything

I'm getting error code 4174-0000-3080-0502-8007-0070 and I've tried using a new thumb drive for extra storage. Still won't download update. I tried formatting thumb drive but when I plug it into the computer there isnt enough space to put the update on.
I tried only using 5 out the 8gigs for xbox partition and when I put the update on the thumb drive it doesnt show up on the xbox. Please help. Thanks!

Cannot download new update. TRIED EVERYTHING!

I've recently decided to get back on xbox live with all these new games coming out. I Fired up the ol' box to see there is a new update, however I cannot download it. I keep getting the message to "test your internet settings" and recieve the error code
3CD6-3F45-A090-0F00-8007-2AF9 which I can' find any help with in the forums. Ive tried everything the trouble shooting says to, clear the cache...hook directly into the modem and even dl the update to a USb drive and put that in my xbox, STILL DIDNT WORK!!
So now I am stuck. and annoyed. I have a netgear router with an **** modem. model TM722. Ive tried to disable the firewall? I'm not even sure if it has one, or how to do it. It's all relativly new. But any help on this topic would be a great HELP!~!!! Thanks

 

Can't download game or app updates

Hi, I've got a xbox smart. I just can't download game or app updates. I can download games and everything.. Can't download update. Check your xboxlive connection ......... Status code: 40a3 0000 d080 0200 8007 274c I've tried everything on the xbox-support
website, nothing happens.. Please can someone help me!!??! GM.

 

Try Settings > System > Storage > Highlight any storage device> Press Y on the controller > Select YES to clear system cache. Do this 5 times.

If this doesn't help try to delete your profile and download it again.

 

The error code you posted suggests an issue with your hard drive space.

If you have a hard drive in your console try removing it and just leaving the flash drive in for the update as the update may be trying to default to your main storage device.

 

I don't have a hard drive, I tried formatting the entire 8gig flash drive for system memory and it doesn't change anything. I already tried clearing the cache and that didnt work. I don't know how to download the update load it on the flash drive and install
it as the xbox doesnt recognize any files I put on it from a computer.

 

Which type of console are you using? The old FAT or new Slim console? If you are using the Slim try clearing space from the internal flash drive.

 

New slim console, the internal is 3 gig and nothing is on it. Someone gave this to me cause they couldn't get it to update. The update I download to put on flash drive is only 150mb so I'm not sure what the problem is.

 

Sounds like a real issue. It may need to be reset to factory settings. You can try doing this by unplugging the usb drive and formatting the internal flash drive or contact phone support for more help in solving this issue.

Sometimes the usb ports might get damaged and can't recognize the flash drive. You can try to use a dvd to apply the latest update. You can update your Xbox 360 console software by downloading the update to your computer from Xbox.com, burning the update
to a CD or DVD, and then installing the update on your console. Here's how:

On your computer, download the update file.

Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.

Unzip the file. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.

If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.

If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).

Insert a blank, writeable CD or DVD into your computer.

Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and choose to write (burn) the files to the disc.

Once the files have been burned to disc, remove that disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.

Restart the console.

When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

I tried burning to disc, xbox says mixed media disc and won't run it.
