Correct - this issue is best resolved with either a direct modem connection with ethernet cable, or disabling your firewall temporarily.

Go to Settings>>system>>storage>>highlight your storage device>>Press these buttons in sequence: LB RB X LB RB X. this will delete the previous update and install the new one.

How much storage space do you have on the console? If you don't have enough then you won't be able to install the update.

If you have lots of space and have tried all the support steps then you may need to contact phone support for more assistance.

@Sir Greek Fire.... I totally agree. No one is perfect, just tell me you made a mistake, no biggy. Instead I'm sure we are all getting irked at Microsoft, and a PS3 looks good right now. Yeah, it got hacked, but at least they came out and let their following

I have some similar problem. When i try and sign into Xbox Live , I need to download the newest update . I press ok then the update goes . It gets to the very end and then the green line freezes just near the end. After about an hour or 2 it says " Can't
download the update. To test your connection, open system settings and select network settings, test xbox live connection. If the problem persists, go to www.xbox.com/support. Satus code: ( bunch of numbers ). My connection is fine , I cleared the system
cache and formated my HDD and none of it helped . Any support would be appreciated. Thanks .
