    Can't download the game free with gold.


    Ok so I entered a 14 day xbox live gold membership of the PC so I can download "Metro Last Light" but when I go to download it, it is saying I need to buy xbox live gold membership. I have no idea on what I can do. Please help...

    Hi,

    I have been having trouble downloading games off the games with gold website for almost a year now. I find it works better in Internet Explorer instead of the more popular and less rapey browser Chrome. No Internet Explorer; I do
    not want to install Bing, Maps and Edge, and no I don't want to give you Amazon referrals...ANYWAYS...Try Internet Explorer. Try again the next day. Try the console. Try the mobile app. It usually eventually works even if it is ALWAYS a lot of work. Nothing
    is free, including games we pay monthly for.

    Can't download 'Free' Games with Gold

    Hi,

    So you should try from the console with your child account as he his the owner of the Gold subscription, the Games with Gold are logically displayed from the console dashboard.

    However, it also seems that the used profile to do it must have a valid payment option linked to his MS account, see

    Can't download the game free with gold.

    Trials less than one month don't actually give you a gold account. They just allow you to try out some of the features of Xbox Live. Games with Gold can only be accessed with a paying Gold membership or the first one month free trial. 2 day and 14 day
    trials do not count as your account is still considered silver.

    I'm having this same issue. I just got it with the free games for gold and when I dry to download it, it keeps saying "can't download". I hope that something is figured out soon. It happens when I try to download the other free game for gold, as well.
