Can't download profile to play xbox 360 games on the xbox one

I recently purchased a Xbox One S after having a 360 for years. I can play most games perfectly fine. However I want to play a backwards comp. game (Counter strike) like i played on the 360. I downloaded it and when I go to play, it says I need to download
my profile (I am already logged in on the xbox one) I click download profile and it keeps telling me I can't connect to xbox live and to test my connection. (connection is fine)

I have researched and tried a few different things and still won't work (turned off two step authorization, cleared cache)

Any help would be appreciated.

I cannot play my 360 games on xbox one because I cannot connect to the xbox live services while doing this so I can't download my profile to even play offline

No,any downloadable content is able to be accessed by any profile on that xbox 360.
exactly the same principal as downloading an arcade game on your profile,and your wife/partner/anybody else being able to play on theirs.

Yeah, I went through that and nothing helped. I made sure the game is backwards compatible and it's on the list too.

 

I would suggest that you try clearing the local Xbox 360 Storage on the Xbox One If you've not already tried it.

In order to do this do as follows.

1. Open the system guide, and proceed to open settings.
2. Go down to the system section and then select storage from within.
3. Proceed to then select 'Clear local Xbox 360 storage', and then choose yes.

After you select Yes, the system will restart. Once the console restarts. Sign into the account you want to use and launch the Xbox 360 game. The system should then automatically download your profiles Xbox 360 data.

Glad to hear you were able to get it to work by deleting and reinstalling. There's another method you could've tried, but I'm glad you got the situation resolved fairly simply.
