Can't download new Xbox Live update

The new update came out today for Xbox Live apparently but my console can't download it. It keeps doing multiple attempts and no luck. I have restarted my Xbox and have tried again but i get the same thing; "Downloading update from Xbox Live (attempt 2 of
3), or 3 of 3. Has anyone had this problem before? How do I fix this?

dashboard update failed!

i was able to download the update and have the new dashboard, but now i can't connect to xbox live....

I received this error message when trying to download an update. I can't connect to Xbox Live or play the Halo 4 game that I just spent $60 bucks on. What gives!

It tells me that it can't download the update and to test my xbox live connection. However, I can't check my xbox live connection if I don't download the update. But of course, I can't download the update.

HELP!!!

You might consider trying to update via a USB / Flash drive...

i was able to download the update and have the new dashboard, but now i can't connect to xbox live....

I just started Lips and a new xbox live update for the game was downloaded. I still can't connect to the ranking server, but I think a new update is a good sign, right?

I can't even sign into xbox live on hughes net...When I turn my console on, it says that an update is required to sign in to xbox live, but it's currently unavailable...I installed the update via flash drive after downloading it on my computer, so I know
that the update stuck, but I can't sign in to xbox live at all...I can download updates and everything else, just can't sign in...so GAY!!!!

The Media Update isn't a title update it's actually DLC, unfortunately if you can't connect to Xbox live you can't download DLC. Even if you downloaded it on an alternative Xbox the update wouldn't be signed to work on your console.

same here, my lounge xbox can't download the update because it can't connect to live. my bedroom xbox downloaded the update after trying to connect to live a few times. my bedroom xbox, though, can't connect to live now either and it's been updated, whats
with that? we've been tryna clock gears3 on insane over live, but now we're just gonna watch movies from the rental shop. stink.
