Can't download Halo 3... Ever.

Well I found your issue

It's your modem

As it Is only capable of 3g speeds it's not fast enough for large downloads

The minimum speeds needed for gaming is 1mb per sec

With 3g or even lte modems they are inconsistentmodems and will time out with large downloads coupled with your ics connection it doesn't help

A broadband connection is recommended

 

I've been able to play games online just fine, and it is a broadband connection. But I assumed the connection speed was the cause of the error. Thanks for your help.

 

If you are lagging and having Nat warnings then it's the connection

And no 3g isn't considerred broadband

yes it can go broadband but not consistently anything above 128kbs is considered broadband however most gaming services require 1mb per sec consistent

Yes you can play with others but most likely you will be laggy

If you read the specs of that modem it's not very fast 300kbs to 400kbs

You will have to get a cable or dsl or fibre or higher

Lte can solve the issue but depends where you a are and the coverage and how stable

Downloads are affected mmore by speed then gameplay

Because there is error checking and the system has to recover from those errors

 

I am getting a change of isp (and going from a modem to dsl yay [that was sarcasm]) for the record and before we moved I got consistent speeds of around 1mb. Of course some of that was lost because my laptop is not a gaming modem and my laptop is not exactly
near my xbox, but it still worked for gaming and I never really had horrible lag issues (there were a few times, but nothing like what I had to deal with while playing Halo PC).
