Can't Download Games

Hi,

In the past 4 days I've tried downloading Assassin's Creed IV at least 15 times and every single time I'm greeted with a "Can't Download Assassin's Creed IV" notification.

After the first few tries, I started doing some research to see what people have done to fix this problem in the past. This is what I came up with:

• It is not my Region/Timezone. All settings including my Account and Console have the correct Region/Timezone.
  
• It is not my Modem/Router, nor is it my internet speed. I tried switching out my Modem and Router a few times with different ones but the game still did not download. Now, my internet speed, which is 6Mb/s, is pretty slow, but I've had this speed for 4
  years (the age of my account) and I've never had problems with it. The amount of devices connected to my WiFi has not changed recently either.
  
• I do not have a VPN.
• It is not the Game itself. I also tried downloading Army of Two: TDC to see if it would do the same thing and yes, it did.
  
• It is not my Account. I've deleted my account and re-downloaded it and nothing has changed.
  
• It is not my HDD. I tried using a different storage device and it did the same.
  
• It is not my Console. I put my HDD in another console and it did the same.

Before every new test I ran, I would delete the incomplete game file and clear my system cache. As well as with every different Modem/Router I used, I port forwarded ports 80, 3074, 53, and 88.

Please, what is causing this? And what can I do to fix it?

Also, after deleting the content and before clearing the system cache, you might want to clear the marketplace cache under System Items (marketplace data and rights database).

Try simplifying the setup if possible and wire into the modem (not really applicable if using a wireless modem/gateway).

I bought Soul Caliber 4 off the marketplace and i've been letting it download for about an hour or so.. 4.28GB is a fair ammount but it should've budged atleast abit to maybe 2% already. The download cancelled itself once or something like that once already
(I left it downloading, turned off my TV and went to get something to eat then came back and it wasnt on the active downloads) I restart the download and 20 minutes later it says "Can't Download Soul Caliber 4" WHY CANT IT DOWNLOAD?!

 

Just an update, I wondered if this problem was limited to the current Games For Gold titles so I tried to download Defiance and it did the same thing. Defiance got to 23% and then quit.

 

When you say the correct region do you mean continent or country

Xbox live regions go by countries

Your account region and actual region has to match

Also us foreign bases dont count as the us nor do territories

Territories have their own geoip

Us foreign bases have geoips located in the host country you will havd to match that ip with your hostcountry

If you are using a lte or non broadband connection then yes they will always time out you need actual broadband

My Region is set as United States and my actual location is in the United States.

My internet connection is DSL. It's no longer considered Broadband or even "High Speed" as the recent rule change, but it has always been more than adequate when downloading games. I owned an Xbox One and had downloaded the Master Chief Collection at one
point which was around 60Gb. It took me a couple days to do so, but it did it without problem.

I spoke to an Xbox Support employee earlier who suggested I should attempt a wired connection. I'll be doing that tonight and will update afterward.

Fyi the xbox one does background downloads it doesnt actually rewuire much and uses a better wifi adapter

Background downloading doesnt take much power or bandwidth

My download is consistently between 5.60Mb/s and 6.00Mb/s. I also have background downloads enabled on my Xbox 360.

I hooked my console up to my router via ethernet cable and began downloading it again around 9:30PM EST. In half an hour it has downloaded 9%. At this rate it's about 7x faster than what it was earlier via WiFi and what I would consider "normal" download
speed considering my internet speed.

I'm not so sure if I should call this fixed, but it's definitely looking better than before. I'll update on whether or not it fails or if it downloads completely.

• Delete Your Profile from your Xbox 360
  • Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > Profiles > Your Profile

  • Settings > System > Storage > Hover over Hard Drive and press "Y" > Clear System Cache
    
• Turn off your Console
• Plug an Ethernet Cable that is connected to your Router or Modem into your Console
  
• Turn on your Console
• Re-Download your Profile
  • Xbox Button on Controller > Download Profile > Email > Password
• Download your Game from your Download History
  • Settings > Account > Download History > Game

I got the same problem. I could download Assassins Creed iv without any problems, but Army of TWO does not really work. It does not start or it downloads til some % and quits after some %. Last month i got no problems with any downloads. Thanks for free

Same problem here, EXCEPT that my Xbox 360 is connected by cable. Unfortunately this is a server problem.

 

How do you know that if there is no status warning and you havent given troubleshooting info

What applies to rhe op doesnt apply to you unless you have the exact same settings same account region and actual region and internet speed

For this game your location must match your account region

There is a difference between region problem than a download problem. This game, Assassin's Creed IV, DOES NOT have region problem, because my download starts. If it had a region problem, I would get an error, just like I get when I try to download Army
of Two DC.

Well, I just moved my account to my actual region. Guess what?! I still get the same problem.

The exact same thing is happening to a friend of mine. The difference is that his account was already in the same actual region.
