Can't download free games.

ive tried everything to download the free games since last month up to march 2015 ive had no problems at all with games with gold please has anyone any solutions cause ive trid the lot aand to be honest sick to the back teeth

 

it's frustrating alright, especially as what works for one won't work for another. and sometimes what works once won't work again....

have you tried deleting some items from your HD and retrying ? sorry, i know it doesn't seem to make logical sense when you've plenty of HD space ( i had about 40 gig ) but i deleted a couple of disk installed games and it seemed to work for Saints Row.


i was on the 3rd download attempt, stalled at about 50% and couldn't restart it no matter what i tried.

i recall doing the same for one of the other games i had trouble with, it was a tip i found in a forum when searching about the issue. i forgot about it when i made the post above, but it could be a key factor in how i finally managed to get the games.

again, it's not guaranteed, but it may be worth a try if you have a disk-based game or two that can be deleted and easily reinstalled, after the downloads are, hopefully, complete

 

Delete the downloads, clear the cache. See if that helps. Sometimes, if there's a corrupt image of the game left on the HD, it will forever give you an error when trying to resume. So maybe clearing out the cache, and removing all traces, may fix the issue.

 

So what was the update for so many people are still saying they can't download games and have good speed and what not and all say it started 2month back come on Microsoft bit of a coincidence

 

Same problem here, all games now say 'Can't download X'.

Have tried all work arounds and clearing of cache files, and there is enough room on hard drive.

Anything being done about this, or any other suggestions?

 

I'm having trouble downloading Mafia 2 this is getting annoying now the second game I haven't been able to download.

 

i've tried all kinds. When the download becomes stuck, saying 0% "Can't Download", the closest i've found to a "consistent" method of continuing it is to delete an installed game from the HD. ( not perfect, and likely no-use if all your games are on-demand
titles )

Maybe it's coincidence, but, even though i've always more than plenty of space, i've ended up trying this for each free game. i tried all kinds of other stuff too so when i finally got the games it's never been clear what, if anything, i'd done to get
it running again.

Mafia II and F1 2013, like the rest, both got stuck & repeatedly failed to kick back in ( it happens if i play a game or use an app on xbox while DLing ) . Or if Live disconnects.

Unlike the other times though, i went and deleted an installed game before i tried anything else and, strangely, the download resumed on my next attempt.

For F1 2013 i initially deleted a demo. That didn't work. So i deleted a game from the games folder and, Bish !, the download resumed. . .

The HD has never had less than 40gb when i've tried to get each game and, in the case of F1, i had 100gb free.

It sounds like a daft 'solution', and may just be lucky chance, but if anyone having problems hasn't tried this, i'd be interested to hear if it works for others or not.

 

try delete your profile and redownload profile and try agen to se if it resolves it
