cant download free game with gold D4

I don't like having my credit card linked to my profile so I remove it everytime I use it. Xbox charge you with $1.25 or something when you add your card, I know It's not much but it if it says the game is free to download with gold membership I expect it
to be free.

 

Yeah It's kind of annoying that it's starting to do this. I downloaded Volgarr just a few days ago with no problem but now all of a sudden I need a credit card? I don't use credit cards on any of the consoles for digital games and have no plans to so I
hope this gets fixed soon.

 

I'm getting the same issue. Tried to add a credit card to see if that would work even though I already have a card on my account, but I can't put my state/province in because there's no country select and the options I have all seem to be locations in the
US when I don't even live there! Nimrods. What's also strange is that I can get other free stuff just fine without this mysterious prompt for a credit card.

Fix this, Microsoft, I would like to play this game.

 

Hope they return it to FREE, no 0,00.

I'm currently chatting with someone from Xbox support, they're saying you do need a credit card for some of the free games. This sucks because I don't have one.

Do not accept this to be true...you have a lazy support person. I have not had a card attached to my account in years.

I was actually able to chat with someone at MS that actually cared enough to go outside the script, and dig in to this, and she confirmed with her manager that there should not bee a payment option screen for Games with Gold, as long as you meet the criteria
of having Gold...

She has given me a case number and is escalating ...

 

I was so curious at this game when it was announced that is gold. I like these adventures... So i dont know why is this traping us with cc.

 

I have pretty much downloaded every free game and all of them have worked to download without a credit card linked to your gamertag.

 

chat with a support, they said it the game dev end issue.....blame is going back and forth

 

Pathetic. Why are some people who have no cards can download it and others do not: |?

 

Now it looks like it works! Go and try it out, at least for me it is labelled as "free" and not 0,00€ so no credit card needed.

 

Its fixed for me too, just get it for free through smartglass
