"Can't Download" Error on Xbox 360

Since about December 2014 almost every time I download a game or add-on they start to downloading like normal and when they get to about 70% I get a message that says, Can't download". I looked online and it seems like other people are having the same problem.
The solution that I found works is clearing the cache and then re-downloading the game. Even though the solution works every time, it is still annoying to have to do that every single time I want to download something. I was wondering is there another solution
for this problem so I don't have to clear the cache every time? and does anyone know what causes this problem?

Hi dzs MeCH! I am refering to the official Xbox website & to the "My Games" link (in the Xbox 360 portion of the link none of my Xbox 360

games or dlc are loading to download & add to my 360 download que). I had noticed other people had posted about this "error" on the forums but it had not been resolved what is causing it!

Problem

You see the following error code and message when you try to download an update to your Xbox 360 console:

This may mean that a storage device was not found during the software update.

Solution

To resolve this problem, try the following:

1. Turn off your console.
2. Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, any external hard drives, or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 console.
   Learn how to remove the hard drive.
   
3. Add your primary storage device; for example, the hard drive.
4. Turn on the console.
5. Try downloading the update again.

Hi there,

besides clearing the cache, please check if there are any corrupt/incomplete files currently present on the storage device. Settings - System - Storage - Select Storage device.

The incomplete/corrupt files will have a yellow icon with exclamation mark, they can cause download issues like this.

 

It's a bug in background downloads.

When you download something you must stay on the active downloads screen. Do not play a game or app.

If you multitask in anyway you can get this error.

You can also get this error if you try and background download while console is off as that will also cause this error. So it will be a good idea to make sure auto-off is either switched off or set to six hours.

This bug has existed for months. I have no idea if and when this will get fixed as MS have not acknowledged it. They just tell you to clear the cache and delete the partial download. They have not said whether they know what causes it or whether they are
going to fix it.
