"Can't download" error at ~%80 :(

Call of Duty 2 for Xbox360.

What error code or message are you receiving?

I keep constantly have the same error, it fails to download around %80. I did everything mentioned in

http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/downloadable-content/download-xbox-live-content . I've changed X360 IP as static IP and DMZ. Deleted corrupted file, system cache, Marketplace System Data file. Restarted and tried all of these 4-5 times. But
cannot download succesfully. It always fails ~%80. I've downloaded another game about 1 months earlier (fifa15) without any hassle.

It's cable modem(not DSL) with 10Mbps download and 1Mbps upload constantly. Xbox connected to with the cable to the modem.

I started to think the corrupted game image file in Xbox Live storage. Answers will be appreciated...

Cannot download Borderlands 2

Game played fine last night. Disc read error today. Cleared cache multiple times. Deleted all BL2 items from hard drive. Download stops at 80% and says "Can't download Borderlands 2" Now what else can be done to get the product to work as it had been previously?

 

Crysis 2 download is stucked at %80

 

Well that would be why

Your account region has to match your actual region

Cod games are region locked especially the older ones

If you are using a VPN or queueing it from the websitethat would be causing your problem

They are unrealiable methods of bypassing the region lock filters

 

Thank you for the reply, but to be honest i don't use any VPN stuff to download apps&games. For myself, the download shouldn't start at all if there is a region control. But in my case, download starts as it should be, but gives "can't download" error ~80%.

Is it really related with the region selection?

This game is not in Xbox Turkey accounts and I couldn't find the game in stores or as a 2nd hand. That's why i had to switch my region to US. :/

 

As turkey was only added recently older titles wouldn't be added

If you are queuing from the website it would be bypassing the filters

You are supposed to change to your actual region from the website but since your account region doesn't match you are queuing the wrong regional content

For the best experience with Xbox live your account region must match your actual region

Are you sure you arent a VPN as most apps would be region locked for the us unless you aren't using Netflix or youtube

 

You would have to buy a disk copy from etailers or retailers

It is not recommended that you buy out of region disks however due to issues with not playing out of region disks on in region consoles

Pal games will work with pal consoles but not NTSC consoles

 

FYI since the cod 2 disks are region locked its probably why its region locked

Since certain games like FIFA or darksiders has three requirements too

And console region (pal or NTSC )

Yes, I'm sure, but i don't use most of apps. I just switch region to download cod2.

Regarding region locking, I have a PAL console. So is it possible to play NTSC game(or region locked) in PAL console?

From your words, I understand that I paid for nothing. Is it possible to refund the game?

 

Best rule of thumb it is a triple a title like cod or halo or gears or FIFA its most likely region locked

Using an out of region account doesn't garentee the dlc or games can be downloaded even with a VPN

 

FIFA Is region locked partially due to the licensing that comes with it and due to the fact it requires a same regional console

So do you have a NTSC console?

So I donno how you managed to download it but it won't happen all the time

That's why the terms of use and we don't recommend you use an out of region account

I did a research about region locked games. And Call of Duty 2 is not region locked:

That would be the disk not the digital version

You never go based on disks

 

Playasua do not list digital versions

As they only sell disks versions there Is no actual listing

Usually when you have issues with downloads and your account region doesn't reflect your actual region your issue is because of the region mismatch 90% of the time

All you have to do to solve your problem is match your account region with your actual region

 

You are going to face issues still even if you migrate because content doesn't transfer between regions

It is not recommended that you create accounts not of your actual region

It is also a terms of use violation to try and gain access to content you aren't supposed to have access to like us region locked content
